It's a lovely place. An hacienda in a real rural environment. We had a ground floor room with a private little terrace. There was no furniture on it but they allowed it to snatch that from wherever we could find it. Nice pool area and a good kitchen.
Contrary to previous guests we had no problem finding the place with the information provided by the hotel. However we agree that the 500 m drive up to the hotel is horrible. Apparently there is a legal conflict between the two users of the track (the other being a farmer with his tractors and tools). Driving up to Sevilla center takes at least 30 minutes. However, Carmona at 5 minutes is worth a visit too!
Beautiful location and a very atmospheric hotel. We saw that some of the reviews suggested that the hotel is not well maintained, but that is not the case: the building next to it is somewhat worn down (we'd say atmospheric :-) ) but the hotel itself is spotless without losing any of its charm.
A marvellous experiance,clean,fresh,lovely location,staff superb,highly reccomend.
There is a big swimming pool, great! It's situated rural and thereby quite, but close to Sevilla. An ideal place to stay to visit the city. We got the room in the tower, very spacious and nice furniture.
The hotel is well off the main road down a very bumpy track. However this has the advantage that once you arrive you really do feel away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Maribel the proprietor was extremely helpful and speaks excellent English. We ate in the restuarant, as it really would be a hassle to go out to find something to eat but this wasn't a problem as the food was very good indeed. The pool is a good size allowing for a proper swim. The bar has been decorated in arabic style and was a great place to spend the evening. A real find.
Our SatNav couldn't find the new road off which the hotel is located. However if you print the map from the hotel website you should find it easily enough. The track leading from the main road to the hotel has to be taken very slowly. Not sure why the check in time is limited from 2 - 5 and it did make us anxious as to what would happen if we were late!
Once we settled in, my husband and I actually appreciated the quiet of being in the countryside. La Hacienda is a 400 year-old structure that has been impressively restored. We also appreciated the large size and grandness of our room. Though it is a bit odd to include a beautiful claw foot tub that doesn't actually work. (There is a shower too, which works fine. Perhaps the hotel could at least let guests know upon chec-in.)
I would recommend this hotel only to those who have their own car. It is very far away from any town and quite remote. I think the hotel would be better served by making this clear in their description so that guests aren't surprised by the remoteness of the place. Also, I suggest the hotel invest in better road signage (a small sign in the town of Carmona followed by a couple of professional roadside signs. Paving or at least leveling the driveway too.
Friendly, nice swimming pool, excellent location, the road was not so bad. They do there best to make the road more ridable, very calm.
We didn'nt like the smell In the room. They use a product to keep away the insects. No towels at the swimming pool, for a 4 star hotel it is a must.
The interior decor was charming, nice to have a large swimming pool and good food offered. Internet available in the social area. Good English spoken.
The access road is unmade and has been damaged by the recent heavy rains, but don't be put off, the hotel is worth the effort.
It is a quirky hotel, very secluded and peaceful. The meals we had there were good and the staff were friendly & helpful.
The hotel is a little difficult to find - there is a sign on the roadside but it could be more noticable. The bed was not the most comfortable and the air con is very noisy.
We liked the whole experience. The room was spacious and clean, and had a nice private terrace outside French windows. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The location was very quiet and restful and there are large gardens to walk in. The quality of the meals and the wines was excellent. The swimming pool was superb. The owner made us very welcome and looked after us splendidly throughout our stay. Proximity to the railway with free parking and an excellent train service to Seville were an added bonus.
Not easy to locate. Precise travel directions would be helpful.
We loved the Hacienda and the way it was furnished: very stylish but not overdone. The swimming pool was a nice break after sightseeing. Breakfast and dinner were served outside on a terras.
The address was a little bit hard to find, of the road. Visit the website of the hotel to find a good route descripition. The flotter of the toilet required a handy man; my husband fixed it himself.
Lage, zimmer, pool, personal, einrichtung,
Preise für essen und getränke sind absolut unangemessen. Rest der anlage ist ein bischen heruntergekommen. Frühstück ist kontinental, sehr schlicht.
